Why Serving Helps You Grow
Last night wrapped up my 4th year as a Board member at the Chicago Yacht Club.
Since joining the club in 2009, here is what I’ve learned:
1) Get to know others and learn their stories
2) I love sailboat racing - competing is a top 3 strength finder for me
3) Give your time - I’ve volunteered for so many committees over the years and I’ve met so many incredible people
4) Say yes - when you open yourself up to new opportunities, great things happen
5) Join a Board - being the Treasurer for the Chicago Yacht Club Foundation was truly one of the most rewarding aspects of my time thus far at the club
6) Spending time at the club will bring memories - my wife and I got married at the club, we took our son there after he was a week old and I host all of my business events there. It’s just an incredible place to be.
I could go on and on about how special the Chicago Yacht Club is to me.
I’m excited to see what the next chapter will bring…
